ai seo campaign

Artificial intelligence is growing rapidly in every industry and it is hard to ignore AI in recent times. Being an SEO agency, we have used different AI tools and Agentic AI to run the campaigns. Today we are going to share useful insights about a campaign which we run completely by AI tools. In this guide we will learn what went wrong and what delivered results for us when we reduced the human input and run the campaign using AI tools only.

Being an SEO agency, we keep an eye on market and try different AI tools for keyword research, content creation, competitor analysis, technical audits and AI optimization. Being a founder of TheSEOGuy, I wanted to understand the hype of artificial intelligence and use it in a right manner so that I could save my time and energy. I want to find out the right AI tools for my team to enhance the productivity.

During my research I found a lot of articles, linkedin debates, AI tools advertisements and much more and I decided to give it a try and run at least one campaign entirely using the AI tools and analyze the results.

The results were surprising.

AI can solve a lot of problems but sometimes it gets stuck on simple task.

Why We Started Using AI

why we started ai in seo campaign

Being a busy SEO agency, we were looking to enhance the productivity and reduce the repetitive tasks. I wanted to focus on strategy instead of reviewing the tasks performed by others.

AI brought solutions for multiple tasks such as research, data analytics, communication, bulk data reviews, content ideas and helped in reshaping the workflow. Instead of spending countless hours in gathering the information relevant to projects, we used AI to do the work for us.

Most of this work was necessary, but much of it was repetitive.

We wanted to know whether AI could reduce the research burden without affecting quality.

What We Let AI Handle

Over time, we integrated AI into multiple stages of our SEO process.

Today, we use AI for:

We use a combination of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, DeepSeek, custom GPTs, and various SEO platforms.

The goal was never to replace SEO expertise.

The goal was to improve efficiency.

What AI Got Right

1. Research Became Significantly Faster

This was the biggest win.

AI reduced our research time by roughly 60%.

Research tasks take a lot of time if we do it manually. Previously our team was spending several hours to complete one simple research. Sorting, analyzing, big data analysis was the biggest challenge for our team and AI helped in performing these tasks quickly with efficiency. Now our team spend less than half of the time they were spending previously.

2. Keyword Clustering Improved

One of AI’s strongest abilities is recognizing relationships between topics. When given large keyword lists, AI can group keywords into logical clusters remarkably well. However, we keep an eye on every result as human review is required to understand the clusters before we send it to client for approval. AI can help in generating the data quickly compare to manual work.

3. Content Ideation Improved

AI helped big time in generating the right content ideas. We regularly use AI to generate relative content ideas for our projects. While you are working on a new niche, AI can quickly help you in:

It helps in achieving the better productivity and complete the tasks quickly.

4. Communication Became More Efficient

Right communication is the key of transparency and trust. While dealing with multiple national and international clients, it’s important for us to maintain the reputation of TheSEOGuy. With the help of AI tools, we wrote better emails, organize reports and improved our communication within teams and clients. Now we can spend our time in actual client strategies instead of polishing the message, checking the grammar and correcting the structure and formation of the message or email.

What AI Got Wrong

This is where things become interesting.

AI is getting a lot of attention and hype but it still struggles with several critical SEO responsibilities.

1. Understanding Context

AI is good in most of the tasks and fits in requirements but the biggest weakness we observed with AI is understanding the context. Search engine optimization is not about just the keywords it is about understanding:

AI often understands the words but not the business context behind them. It creates a lot of reworks. We get the logical recommendations but not completely connected from the actual objective we are looking for.

2. Search Intent Mistakes

AI frequently misunderstands search intent.

A keyword may appear informational on the surface but actually indicate commercial intent.

Likewise, transactional keywords are often grouped incorrectly.

When it comes to understanding the search intent, we cannot rely on AI completely. Human input is required to validate the authenticity, content relatability and fixing mistakes.

3. Inaccurate Data

This remains one of the most important limitations.

The data it provides should never be accepted without verification.

Many times, we found ourselves manually validating suggestions before taking action.

It is hard to trust the AI-generated SEO data without verifying them. Being an SEO agency, we always recommend to verify the AI-data before using it anywhere in the project or reports.

4. Repetition

Repeating the same mistake again and again is the biggest problem of AI. Sometimes it takes a lot of time for AI to understand the outcome we are looking for and adjust the answers according to it. We often struggle with AI when this happens. I have seen people asking AI and every time it is giving same answer in different words which is very frustrating.

5. Content Quality Problems

At TheSEOGuy, we do not rely on AI to create final content.

Instead, we use AI for research and workflow improvements.

The reason is simple.

AI-generated content often lacks:

The result is content that sounds acceptable but fails to stand out.

What This Experiment Taught Us

what we learn after we let ai run an seo campaign

The biggest lesson was that AI is not replacing SEO professionals.

For research purpose, AI performs well but when it comes to strategy, Humans perform better. You can rely on AI for data collection but it can’t make business decisions. You can easily automate your workflow using AI tools but making AI understand the search intent requires a human input.

The Future of SEO Is Human + AI

The most effective SEO teams in the coming years will not be fully human or fully AI.

They will combine both.

AI will handle:

Humans will handle:

At TheSEOGuy, that’s exactly how we approach AI today.

But we verify, validate, and guide every recommendation before it influences a client’s SEO strategy.

AI is a powerful assistant it is not yet an SEO strategist.

And understanding that difference may be the biggest competitive advantage SEO professionals can have in 2026. We understand the importance of AI in SEO and the human input require for delivering quality results in SEO campaigns. If you are looking for perfect AI SEO solutions, you are at right place.
