Once, everything is ready, you need to go to user attribution and select demographic details. You will see all the traffic you have received from all the locations. Commonly the data contains the countries if you are receiving traffic from multiple countries. If this is the case, you can filter out the data by applying a small filter in report.

Click on “Add filter” option available under the reports section “Demographic Details”.

After you need to select dimension as “Country”.

Now add the match type as “Exactly Matches” and from the drop down you can check the country you are targeting to analyze the local audience. It could be your home country. In our case it’s “India” as we are an Indian SEO agency and our local audience will be people living nearby our physical address.

After applying this filter, you will get all the traffic you have received from one country. In the reports section below you need to make small adjustment and pick “Town and City” to see which cities and towns are generating maximum traffic.

After selecting town and city, you will be able to see the exact data recorded in analytics of traffic you have received from different location.

You can continue filtering the data as per your research and analysis.

Pro Tip: Add the secondary filter of device category to identify how many users are coming from mobile and how many from desktop. It will help you to create the AI SEO strategies.
